About Amy
Welcome! I'm Amy & I've been teaching in Surrey & online since 2012. These powerful practices have changed my life & I enjoy sharing the benefits with others. I weave yoga & mindfulness together to improve clarity & to re-connect mind & body so that we can rediscover our natural calm & vitality. I have a particular interest in cultivating resilience & self-compassion.
I have a warm, inclusive teaching style & I am able to adapt yoga classes to your individual needs. I offer modifications for all levels & encourage you to listen to your own body with kindness.
I began practicing mindfulness & yoga about 12 years ago, to help me cope with the death of my mum & a stressful job as a primary teacher. These transformative practices continue to support me day by day.
I’m happiest in nature although this deep sense of connection is bittersweet, given the rapidly worsening Climate Crisis. I have a passion for relational mindfulness; reconnecting with ourselves, others & the world around us. I’m particularly drawn towards creating safe, compassionate spaces to support those in need at this increasingly unsettled time.
I support various organisations & individuals who advocate for social, racial & environmental change. Find out more here.
I hope to meet you soon. Please contact me to find out more.

Training
I trained to teach mindfulness with Mindfulness UK through their foundation degree level teaching course. A key element of this course was the transformative practice of developing self compassion. I'm also an experienced primary teacher & am trained to deliver mindfulness in schools. I love guiding groups & I'm currently working with with expert mindfulness teacher Deborah Eden Tull to deepen my space holding & deep listening skills.
I completed yoga teacher training at the Yoga Institute Sydney. My teacher, Michael DeManincor, studied with TKV Desikachar - one of the most respected teachers of classical yoga. I have also spent years exploring other mindful, breath-centred approaches which encourage us to reconnect with the innate wisdom & healing capacity of the body.
I'm an eternal student, committed to deepening my practice. I regularly attend workshops, retreats & masterclasses.

"The classes are calm & uplifting. Amy is constantly aware of the specific needs of each individual in the class. She also encourages everyone to become aware of the needs of their own bodies & tailor their practice accordingly, making it as gentle or as challenging as they need. Highly recommended."
