Yoga Classes - What to expect
Boost resilience & restore your natural ease & vitality in a friendly, inclusive space. My yoga classes are strongly influenced by my training as a mindfulness teacher. Classes gently enhance strength & flexibility (both physical & mental!) & are ideal for stress-relief. You can expect to combine gentle flowing sequences & static postures, with an emphasis on mindful awareness of breath & body. Classes are practised at a gentle pace & we finish with a calming guided relaxation. They are kept fairly small to ensure that care can be given to the individual student.
People with pre-existing health conditions should contact their doctor prior to joining a class. Please contact me before attending your first class, particularly if you are pregnant or have any queries about whether the class will be suitable. This will also enable me to check there is space & send you a health form.
Mindfulness Group - What to expect
An opportunity to deepen your mindfulness practice within a supportive group. You will be guided through gentle mindfulness meditations & there will be opportunities to reflect & share our experience (there is no pressure to contribute, you may simply prefer to listen).
The group is suitable for those with a bit of mindfulness experience - ideally you will have attended a course or workshops, although an understanding of the basics through books / apps is a good start.
Important: If you are experiencing intense emotional distress or have a history of mental health issues, please check with your care provider whether mindfulness is suitable for you at this time or contact me for a confidential chat.
Classes at Sandfield School Hall
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. We practice in bare feet. Bring a mat if you have one (I have some spares). Please bring a blanket to keep you cosy during guided relaxation. There is plenty of parking & the hall is through the playground to the right..
Online classes may be more convenient for you as they save travel time. They enable you to practice in the comfort of your own home, while still enabling you to receive individual support & guidance & maintaining a community feel. All you need is a good internet connection & a quiet space to practice. You will be sent Zoom instructions when you register - it is very easy to use.
"Amy's classes are the highlight of my busy day. As a beginner to yoga I find the classes really informative & inclusive. Amy is a wonderful teacher, & I always finish the classes feeling invigorated & relaxed.
These classes are fantastic for all levels of yoga, & as a beginner I especially enjoy the focus on breath. Amy's approach is tailored to your ability & flexibility."
"I am absolutely loving the online yoga. Not only because it keeps my yoga practice going but because it creates some invaluable time & space just for me which I really look forward to. Thank you so much, you're a wonderful teacher guiding us through this difficult time."
